Wedgie Story

Wedgetail Eagles are always so elusive for a photographer – they’re easy to spot from the road but almost impossible to get a good photo of. While travelling along some tracks at the back of Mount Elizabeth cattle station in the Kimberley we saw two Wedgetail Eagles swooping and attacking each other just in front of the car. We stopped, jumped out and saw the eagle being attacked dive down to hide in the spinifex while the other disappeared into the trees. Carefully I followed the first one into the spinifex and managed to snatch these shots as it tried to get away from us and hide from the other bird as well. They are amazing birds to watch.
